Reporting to the CIO,  responsible for defining and then overseeing adherence to the architecture strategy and framework throughout ICT. The Head of Architecture will lead the development and governance of the architecture strategy and roadmap and facilitate the changes required to use Head of Architecture to gain the maximum value for the Business while minimising disruptive impacts. The role also has responsibility for Security and Business continuity.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES 


1. Align IT investment to business strategy and guide the evolution of the current environment to support future capabilities and requirements 
2. Define the technology environment roadmaps to ensure capacity and scalability, as demand and usage evolve within the business. This will be obtained through having visibility and understanding of the entire technology landscape 
3. Work with the Technology Partners to ensure the implementation of the Roadmaps and Standards 
4. Identify, asses and communicate risks related to the Roadmap 
5. Ensure that all the systems are secure and resilient through the effective application of security and Business Continuity principles 
6. To carry out annual and timely performance annual reviews (PARs) of all direct reportees. 

KEY JOB ELEMENTS 
1. Lead the definition and validation of architecture principles and standards 
2. Define the full Technical Architectural Roadmap for the business 
3. Provide expert advice to Business Relationship Managers to make them aware of what currently already exists within the business in terms of existing standards and current systems. 
4. Communicate architecture and IT standards to all stakeholders and ensure standards are published, updated and adhered to. 
5. Collaborate with the BRM team, IT Leadership and architect team to maintain and further develop roadmaps. 
6. Support the coordination and facilitation of the innovation process across IT. 
7. Liaise with key IT partners to quantify and communicate the impacts, trade-offs, risks, costs, benefits and opportunities of IT solutions from an Architecture perspective 
8. Conduct pilot studies to trial new innovations with sample user groups 
9. Keep up to date of Architecture and technology innovation best practices and trends 
10. Promote a culture of innovation. Continuously seek opportunities for improvement within role, processes, team and the IT organisation as a whole 

KNOWLEDGE 
Possess good understanding of Enterprise Architecture concepts and implementations 
Possess a broad understanding of the technical components required to make up an IT technical strategy 
Strong leadership, communication and facilitation skills
